Celebration Lunch for Legacy Donors of LMH
It is our pleasure to invite members of the Beaufort Circle and their guest to join us on Saturday 19th October for our 2024 Beaufort Circle Lunch.
Before lunch, the Principal will share a College update including reflections on the last year and his plans for what lies ahead for College. This will include an update on College finances and early ideas for 150th Anniversary fundraising and celebrations.
This year we are delighted to extend our after-lunch programme to include a celebration of the life of Dr Margery Ord, Tutor and Fellow in Biochemistry 1952-1988. Joined by our Biochemistry alumni, we will mark the publication of her memoir, Pathways: Reflections of a Female Scientist which has been edited and published by alumna Nicky Bull (1972, Biochemistry). We will also recognise the impact of Margery’s significant legacy upon Biochemistry at LMH. Nicky will be speaking alongside Margery’s former colleagues and friends: Dame Frances Lannon, Honorary Fellow & Former Principal, Modern History (1969); Dr Garry Brown, Emeritus Fellow in Biochemistry and Medical Geneticist; and Reverend Dr Allan Doig, Emeritus Fellow, Former Chaplain and Tutor for Graduates. Dr Phil Biggin, the Margery Ord Fellow in Biochemistry will also provide an update on Biochemistry at the College today. The programme will conclude with afternoon tea and fizz. Copies of Margery’s memoir will be available to purchase.
