On Friday 12th May, LMH students hosted a charity night in the bar to raise funds to support humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, successfully raising almost £400.

The night featured Ukrainian music and beer, along with a prize raffle.

Event organiser Rhys Collins said of the evening:

“I studied Russian for my undergraduate degree, and have been learning Ukrainian as part of my Master's. I wanted to do something to try and help Ukrainians who'd suffered from the war, even if it was just something small. So, I organised a Ukrainian themed charity bar night with the bar manager, Anna (a 3rd year LMH student). The bar was open to students and Oxford residents for the night, and we had around 60 Ukrainians come, many of whom were refugees. About 120 students came too, and overall we raised just under £400! The money will go to help buy medical supplies for front line soldiers in Ukraine.”
