LMH Honorary Research Fellow appointed to Supreme Court

Professor Andrew Burrows

Congratulations to Professor Andrew Burrows, who joins the Supreme Court in June 2020. This is an outstanding achievement for a full-time legal academic.

A barrister, Professor Burrows was a Fellow and Lecturer in Law at Lady Margaret Hall (1986-1994). He is currently Professor of the Law of England in Oxford and a Fellow of All Souls College.

Professor Burrows said: ‘I consider it a great honour to have been appointed to the Supreme Court. I am particularly thrilled to be the first academic lawyer appointed direct to that court because this is an important step in cementing the close relationship between legal academia and the judiciary.’
