Biography
Dr Coelho's first degree was in Portuguese and English Studies. She has an MA in Anglo-American Studies (University of Porto, Portugal) and PhD in Comparative Literature (University of Minho, Portugal/ University of Warwick, UK). Her post-doctoral project (2015-2022) was on: Portuguese Artists and Writers in London (1950-1986).
Dr Coelho is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Section Editor (Lusophone Studies) for Modern Languages Open (University of Liverpool) and an Executive Member of the Association of British and Irish Lusitanists.
Research Interests
Transcultural dialogues, in particular Anglo-Portuguese relations; feminist and gendered approaches to art, with a focus on contemporary women artists; diasporic identities in the Portuguese-speaking world.
