LMH alumna Florence Ifeoluwa 'Cuppy' Otedola (2021, MSc African Studies) has been appointed as a King’s Trust International Ambassador by His Majesty King Charles III.

On 22 May, Cuppy attended a King’s Trust Awards reception at Buckingham Palace to celebrate her appointment and to talk to His Majesty about her new role, and the importance of education in her life.

The King’s Trust International was founded by His Majesty in 2015 to tackle the global crisis of youth unemployment. It works with local partners around the world to deliver education, employment and enterprise programmes to empower young people. As a King’s Trust International Ambassador, Cuppy will help raise awareness of the programme’s work and initiatives in over 20 countries worldwide.

A passionate advocate for the power of education, in 2023 Cuppy generously donated £100,000 to the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx) through her Cuppy Foundation for the creation of the Cuppy Africa Oxford Scholars Fund, which aims to support future leaders from the continent by enabling them to access the necessary skills, resources and networks to maximise their impact across Africa and beyond.

Of her visit to Buckingham Palace, Cuppy said, "I am thrilled to have had the privilege of meeting his Majesty the King in my capacity as an ambassador of the King's Trust. I am so proud to be a part of such an impactful and inspiring organisation that puts the needs of young people first."
