All are welcome at the final instalment of the LMH Summer Lectures, featuring speaker Dave Musgrove, content director of the HistoryExtra.com website and podcast, plus their sister publication, the BBC History Magazine. David has a PhD in medieval landscape archaeology and is a fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He is the author, with Michael Lewis, of The Story of the Bayeux Tapestry (Thames and Hudson).
'The Bayeux Tapestry: the story it tells, and what it misses out'
This talk runs through the key things everyone needs to know about the Bayeux Tapestry, in advance of its big loan to the UK in 2026. Dave will consider the story the Tapestry tells about the events of 1066, and what it pointedly omits, to better understand what it was probably designed to do.
About the LMH Oxford Summer Programmes Lecture Series
