'This Wooden O’: Shakespeare's Henry V
This talk examines the opening two scenes from Henry V as an illuminating example of how centrally transformed a text can be by the simplest of edits. Prof Buchanan will be seeking volunteers for moments of audience participation at intervals throughout the talk. No prior knowledge of the play is needed.
Prof Buchanan is a Shakespearean with expertise in text and performance histories. She is Master of St Peter’s College Oxford, Professor of English and a Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford.
