Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused a dire humanitarian crisis, with several million Ukrainians forced to flee their homes. Like the rest of the world, we at LMH have been horrified by the news coming out of Ukraine following its invasion.
We know that many alumni want to do what they can to support those affected by the war, and the College is keen to play its part as well. The University announced that it plans to offer 20 full scholarships to Ukrainian refugees, and it has asked the Colleges to step up by sharing the costs and hosting these students during their time in Oxford.
Next academic year, LMH will be offering a full graduate scholarship to a Ukrainian refugee whose studies have been interrupted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. We currently have at least one such offer-holder planning to commence their studies at LMH this autumn.
We need your help to make this opportunity a reality. You can help us by making a gift towards the LMH Ukrainian Graduate Scholarship. The cost to the College of accepting a Ukrainian refugee is £20,000. This includes:
- £12,500 to provide the student with room and board for the year
- A £7,500 stipend for the student to help with other living and study costs
A gift of any level will help us reach our goal if enough alumni band together. Please be generous. If we raise more than our target of £20,000, we can consider broadening this opportunity by offering a second scholarship to a student from another refugee community.
Please join us in supporting our Ukrainian friends. You can make a single or regular gift online via the College website
