Experimental Psychology at LMH

At LMH, individual attention and support is given to achieve the highest academic standards. We feel it is important to teach students in the College throughout the Prelims courses. This allows students to develop a good personal relationship with their Tutors and helps First Years develop the sound academic approach for more specialist study.

What our students say

Studying Psychology at Oxford has been a hugely enjoyable experience. Through the first two years you cover a huge range of topics, giving you the chance to find out which areas of Psychology interest you most and giving you a broad grounding in Psychology. In the third year you can then choose several advanced options, allowing you to study in greater depth. For me, this has made third year the most enjoyable year, as I've had the chance to focus on the parts of Psychology I find most interesting. The tutorial system provides a great way for you to deepen your understanding, and to engage in debate with both your tutors and your tutorial partners. From second year you have weekly labs as well, and these give you a chance to develop research experience, which is invaluable when it comes to tackling the compulsory research project in third year! Although there is a large workload, you are always supported by tutors and peers, and the feedback you receive on essays really helps you to develop academically.
