Make friends, have fun, and find inspiration in the ‘city of dreaming spires’ at LMH. Your summer in Oxford is waiting for you!
Known as the ‘city of dreaming spires’, Oxford has inspired artists, writers, and thinkers for over 900 years. Here you will find medieval pubs bustling with students and cyclists bouncing along cobbled streets; you will visit beautiful colleges and churches, and must-see museums and libraries; and you will make friends from all over the world when you join our diverse international cohort of students at Lady Margaret Hall for our summer programmes.
Lady Margaret Hall (or ‘LMH’ as it is known to Oxford students) will be your home away from home. Set amongst 13 acres of beautiful gardens and located about 15 minutes’ walk from the lively city centre, LMH students benefit from access to a world-class library as well as gorgeous grounds for a game of croquet with friends, a tennis match on our courts, or even a dreamy punt along the River Cherwell.
Throughout the duration of your enrollment on our courses, you will work with our dedicated, informative and friendly team of Oxford students known as “Residential Advisors” (RAs). They will help you get to know others in LMH, explore the city, and have an authentic experience of life as an Oxford student – both in the lively modern city of Oxford and to the private oasis of our College at LMH.
When you enrol in our courses at LMH, you will stay on-site in our College accommodation, which is usually occupied by undergraduate students at LMH during term time. All student rooms are located within just a few minutes’ walking distance to everywhere in the college.
Comfortable, Private Bedrooms
You can choose to stay in an en-suite room with private bathroom or a standard room with a shared bathroom, both of which are single occupancy. You will be asked to choose your preferred type of rooms in the application form, but the final allocation will be subject to our real-time room availability.
Each room in LMH is comfortably furnished and designed to provide a quiet, personal space for rest and study. This includes a personal desk, ensuring a space for private study throughout your stay. Bedding and towels are provided, with regular servicing from our Housekeeping team, known as ‘Scouts’. Laundry and drying machines are also available on site.
Dining in a Traditional Oxford Hall
All meals at LMH are served in Deneke Dining Hall, an elegant and welcoming space at the heart of College life. You’ll enjoy three freshly prepared meals each day from Monday to Friday and breakfasts at the weekend, with varied menus catering to a range of dietary requirements. This is also included in the Residential Programme Fees.
Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and diary-free options are always available at meal times, and we are also always happy to cater to any other allergies or dietary requirements, such as kosher or halal.
Mealtimes are a chance to unwind, catch up with your friends, group and Student Support Team. On the final evening of the course there is a Graduation Formal Hall, when students dress up in their finest outfits for a special banquet served in the Dining Hall.

Looking for a summer that blends world-class academics with unforgettable cultural adventures?
Our Social and Cultural Programme at LMH is packed with exciting experiences designed to immerse students in the cultural traditions of Oxford while also providing special access to other historic cities and sites. All the while, your friendly group of Residential Advisers help to design and lead a rich roster of activities.
Beyond the classroom, students can participate in events that evoke quintessential Oxford pastimes – like punting on the River Cherwell, competing in traditional pub quizzes, and attending behind-the-scenes tours of the historic Bodleian Library. Explore the Ashmolean Museum, the Pitt Rivers, the Natural History Museum, and the History of Science Museum, and get a taste of student life through events hosted by our friendly Residential Advisors – think crazy golf, tenpin bowling, tea breaks and country 'fêtes' in the sun-dappled gardens.
For those eager to explore beyond Oxford, our Summer Programmes at LMH also offer a range of carefully curated day trips to some of the UK’s most iconic cities and heritage sites. In London, you can discover world-famous landmarks such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the British Museum, while soaking in the vibrant energy of the capital. At Bath, the city's stunning landscape and Georgian architecture evokes the literary imagination of Jane Austen, while the ancient Roman Baths offer a uniquely well-preserved insight into the life and identities of Ancient Britons. While in Cambridge, you will explore our sister university – the 'other place', with guided tours of picturesque Colleges and punting along the River Cam. In each case, our visits are not just touristic experiences; they come with special, behind-the-scenes access to extraordinary learning opportunities with academic experts. At LMH, our students are not 'tourists'; they're scholars.
Across our Social and Cultural Programmes, both in Oxford and beyond, what sets LMH apart is our sense of community. Students at LMH form part of a vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring collegiate environment, comprised of hard-working and passionate scholars from around. Whether you're soaking in centuries of history or chatting over scones and jam, every moment is a chance to connect, learn, and grow.
This is more than just enrolment in an excellent summer course – it’s an authentic and invigorating Oxford experience. Come to LMH and discover Oxford for yourself.
