150 years of LMH

Thinking for the Future

LMH has always led with vision and purpose

Since opening Oxford’s doors to women, we have challenged expectations of what an Oxford education can be.

As we approach our 150th anniversary in 2029, we are building a £100 million endowment to safeguard the LMH experience. Together, we can ensure that LMH continues to pioneer for generations to come.

Ready for what comes next

LMH's endowment is the foundation of our long-term financial security and independence. Today it stands at £65 million, thanks to careful investment and the generosity of alumni and friends. However, the income it generates covers only a small part of the College’s operating costs, at a time of increasing financial pressure across higher education.

Our goal is to grow the endowment to £100 million by 2029, bringing LMH in line with the median Oxford college endowment and giving us the resilience to embrace new opportunities and respond to a changing world.

Together, we can ensure that LMH enters the next chapter of its history with confidence, ready to pioneer for generations to come.

"With your support, LMH will continue to make an impact, just as we did - with quiet determination - when we first opened our doors in 1879."
