Jennifer Lauren Martin

Jennifer Lauren Martin is a London-based filmmaker, artist, writer and academic. Their work has been exhibited and programmed across the UK and internationally, including at Tate Britain, ICA London, LUX Moving Image, Somerset House, South London Gallery, The Showroom, The Douglas Hyde Gallery (IRE), and Olympia Arts (USA). Lauren Martin’s shorts have been screened at international festivals, including Open City Docs, BlackStar, S.O.U.L Fest, Aesthetica, Alchemy, RIDM, Kasseler Dokfest, and EMAF.

They were named Film London Lodestar Artist Filmmaker 2021, awarded Best Screenplay at S.O.U.L Fest 2021, and nominated for Best Experimental Film at BlackStar 2021. Lauren Martin participated in Momentum (We Are Parable x Channel 4) for Black British filmmakers and the FLAMIN Fellowship (Film London). Recent residencies include Triangle-Astérides and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Lauren Martin is a resident at Somerset House Studios, a BAFTA Connect member and co-director of not/nowhere, a Black and POC-led analogue film co-op.
