Biography

I am a Wellcome Trust and Royal Society Sir Henry Wellcome Fellow and lead a research group in the Dunn School of Pathology focused on understanding and preventing the spread of antibiotic resistance. I completed my DPhil in 2016, followed by a Wellcome Trust Postdoctoral Fellowship before starting as a group leader in 2022.

Research Interests

We take an interdisciplinary approach to study how bacteria respond to antibiotics from multiple perspectives; ranging from molecular biology to infection epidemiology. Our ultimate goal is to develop better approaches to treat bacterial infections and new strategies to reduce the spread of antibiotic resistance.

Teaching

I tutor the pre-clinical medical students for the second-year pathology course and the third-year infection and immunity theme. I lecture in bacteriology and organise practical classes.
