Builders carrying out renovation work in the Talbot Building have made an interesting discovery - a copy of the Daily Mail dated Monday 4 April 1910, found lodged inside a wall cavity.
The newspaper is dated Monday April 4, 1910. One one side there are a series of fashion adverts and write-ups, including an advert for Liberty & Co silk scarves.
Renovations in the Talbot Building began at the start of the year, with extensive work underway to replace key heating and electrical infrastructure, including the installation of a new air source heat pump.
The whole building, including Talbot Hall and the Old Library, has been emptied of furniture and will remain out of use throughout Trinity term ahead of a planned reopening at the beginning of the summer vacation.
One side of the newspaper features reports on various football matches, including a match between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
The other side features fashion advertising and articles.
