On Saturday 28th June, over 300 alumni and guests returned to LMH for our annual Alumni Garden Party – a joyful afternoon of conversation, games, art, music and sunshine.
The special guest speaker at this year's Garden Party was celebrated artist and alumnus Conrad Shawcross (1996, Fine Art), who joined LMH Principal Professor Stephen Blyth for a fascinating ‘In Conversation’. Conrad spoke about his work, which explores the boundaries between geometry, philosophy and physics (find out more about Conrad's work on the LMH website).
Afterwards, guests enjoyed afternoon tea on the Fellows’ Lawn and took part in a tour of the College’s artworks, curated by Jaana Loring Melia (Curator of Art) and Stephanie Burette (Chaplain and Keeper of Pictures).
Younger guests were treated to face painting, garden games and a wonderful storytelling walk of ‘The Jolly Postman’, led by performance storyteller Anna Conomos. Acoustic guitar music set a relaxed tone throughout the day, as guests mingled and enjoyed themselves.
There was a steady stream of visitors to the Library for a special exhibition on Science, Religion, and the Space In-Between, curated by our Librarian, Jamie, and ably supported by their Siberian Forest Cat and LMH celebrity, Isambard Kitten Brunel.
A huge thank you to everyone who came and made the day so special.
Next year’s Alumni Garden Party will take place on Saturday 27 June 2026, and will mark the public launch of our 150th Anniversary fundraising campaign. We will be joined by the Chancellor of the University of Oxford, The Rt Hon Lord Hague of Richmond.
Keep an eye out for more information during the spring of 2026, and we hope to see you there.
