Professor Koenigsmann Hosts Mathematical Symposion

Professor Jochen Koenigsmann, Fellow and Tutor in Mathematics, recently organised and hosted a 6-day Mathematical Symposion in Goudargues, Southern France.

The symposion, ‘A la recherche de l’inconnu: Challenges in the model theory of local and global fields’, ran from 23rd to 27th September and brought together a group of Professor Koenigsmann’s current and former DPhil students to share their research and discuss mathematical problems.

The symposion was fully funded by LMH through Professor Koenigsmann’s research allowance.

Invited speakers included:

  • Sylvy Anscombe (Paris Cité/Sorbonne)
  • Dr Philip Dittmann (Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, University of Manchester)
  • Leo Gitin (DPhil Student, Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford)
  • Dr Franziska Jahnke (Professor of Mathematics, Universität Münster)
  • Dr Kostas Kartas (Postdoc with Fields Medallist Peter Scholze at MPI Bonn)
  • Benedikt Stock (DPhil Student, Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford)
