Just before the end of the academic year, the Principal joined members of the LMH Boat Club for the unveiling of two new commemorative blades, commissioned to mark the achievements of two recent women’s rowing crews.

The first set of blades (top right) commemorate the Women’s Second Eight’s memorable performance in the first and only Summer Torpids, which took place in Trinity term 2021 after Covid restrictions were lifted. The crew bumped Univ III; Hertford II; St Catherine’s II; Worcester II and Balliol II.

The second set of blades (top left) commemorate the achievements of the Women’s First Eight in Summer Eights 2022. The crew bumped Merton; Wolfson II; Mansfield and Trinity. Four members of the crew managed to make it along to the unveiling.

The beautiful hand-painted blades have been mounted on the walls of the Talbot Bar alongside those of other LMH crews.
