Who can apply: LMH Summer Programmes are intensive courses suitable for undergraduate or graduate students. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have completed at least their first year of undergraduate study by summer 2026. There is no upper limit on age or stage of academic study, and applications are also open to those who have already completed their university studies.
Prerequisites: Unless specifically stated in the course outline, there are no formal prerequisites or restrictions regarding which subject(s) you are currently studying at university. Please check the description of your chosen course to confirm, and contact vacation.programmes@lmh.ox.ac.uk if in doubt.
Grades: We will consider each applicant’s academic ability and expect successful applicants to have a minimum grade point average equivalent to 2:1 level on the British grading scale. For example, this would mean at least a 3.3 GPA on the 4.0 grading scale in the United States, and 80% in China.
English language requirements: To participate fully in the programme all students will need to have proficiency in English. Students who are not native English speakers must demonstrate their English proficiency with one of the following:
If you are taught primarily in English at your home university, we may be able to waive the requirement for an English language proficiency certificate. If this applies to you, please contact us for further information.

Enrolment in LMH Oxford Summer Programmes typically lasts for six weeks and consists of two course options, though you may choose to study one course lasting three weeks, or select three courses and join us for nine weeks.
You can choose to take courses in the same subject area, or you can select courses from different disciplines to create your own bespoke, personalized portfolio.
You may also consider joining a residential course followed by an online one or vice versa, which will allow you to have both authentic Oxford experience and the convenience of learning remotely.
How to apply: Once you have selected the course(s) and dates of your LMH Summer Programme, you are ready to begin your application. Please follow this link to complete the online form, where you need to provide your personal and academic information as well as a Statement of Purpose no longer than 500 words. In the form you will also be asked to upload your academic transcript and (if applicable) evidence of your English language proficiency.
Application deadline: We process applications on a rolling basis, and will provide a decision on your application within a maximum of two weeks. The final application deadline is 4 May 2026 but we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible as many courses fill up well ahead of the deadline.

Next steps: If you are accepted onto the programme, we will send an Enrolment Agreement for you to sign as well as instructions for the payment of your 25% programme fee deposit. When your programme fee deposit has been received by Lady Margaret Hall, we will contact you to let you know that your place on the programme is secured.
LMH will store your personal data in line with current data protection legislation and will contact you via email to process your application in relation to the LMH Oxford Summer Programmes. LMH will not share or distribute your personal data for other purposes than related to your application to and attendance at the LMH Oxford Summer Programmes.
Lady Margaret Hall is delighted to offer a number of part-fee scholarships for exceptional students participating in the LMH Oxford Summer Programmes.
Talbot Scholars will receive a 25% Programme Fee Scholarship.
Wordsworth Scholars will receive a 50% Programme Fee Scholarship.
