Lady Margaret Hall is thrilled to welcome Richard Hermer, KC (Matrix Chambers) for a conversation with Tutorial Fellow in Law Dr Roxana Banu, followed by a Q&A session. This event is open to LMH students and any other members of the wider Oxford community who are interested in transnational litigation, especially matters involving human rights, civil liberties, and environmental law violations.

Richard Hermer's practice spans public and private law litigation within both domestic and international spheres, and he has been instructed in many of the most high profile cases heard by the English Courts over the past decade. He was called to the Bar in 1993 and took silk in 2009. Richard has been described as “a renowned practitioner in the field who is regularly called upon to handle the most significant, high-profile human rights and civil liberty cases” (Chambers & Partners, 2021). Many of his cases have led to milestone legal changes in private and public international law.
