To celebrate the launch of books by Ben Higgins (LMH) and Amy Lidster (Jesus), the authors will be in conversation with Professor Stephen Blyth, Principal of Lady Margaret Hall, about their research on Shakespeare and the book trade – including how to make a Shakespearean history play and the least read parts of the First Folio – and about the joys and challenges of writing a first academic monograph. The conversation will be followed by a drinks reception to mark the launch of Shakespeare’s Syndicate: The First Folio, its Publishers, and the Early Modern Book Trade (Higgins), and Publishing the History Play in the Time of Shakespeare: Stationers Shaping a Genre (Lidster).
