Music at LMH
A lively counterpoint to academic study
Music at LMH is an excellent counterpoint to academic study, enriching our students’ development, regardless of background or programme of study. LMH’s music scene has expanded to include a concert series, several student-run ensembles, visits by guest artists, masterclasses, an active Music Society, all of which have an accent on participation. We give opportunities for students of all disciplines to participate in and to listen to music in a range of styles.

From our Principal
Music has always been an important part of LMH’s life. Today we have an orchestra and a flourishing choir. There’s a cohort of music students – and a much wider body of people who play or sing music for sheer enjoyment. I myself sang in a cathedral choir when knee high to a grass-hopper and have sung, or played instruments ever since. Since arriving at LMH I’ve been delighted to witness (and occasionally even take part in) so much music-making of such variety. We have recently acquired a stunning Steinway A grand piano for the serious pianists in the college to practice and perform on.
