Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a fixed term college lectureship in Physics, tenable from 1 October 2018 for two years. The post is to cover two consecutive periods of sabbatical for two Tutorial Fellows.

The post-holder would be required to undertake six contact hours of college undergraduate teaching per week during term, and to participate in the undergraduate admissions exercise.  S/he should have previous experience of teaching a variety of courses in the physics BA curriculum, including Normal Modes & Waves, Optics, Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Mathematical Methods, Symmetry & Relativity (desirable), and General Relativity. The successful applicant should have experience of teaching these subjects in tutorials and should have completed a doctorate. A candidate with an excellent (commensurate with the candidate’s career stage) and active track record in research is preferred. 

The post-holder will be paid on the Senior Tutors' Committee stipendiary lecturer scale (£13,248 to £14,900 for six hours at 2017/18 rates) with USS pension and with entitlement to some meals without charge during University term.
