On behalf of everyone at LMH, thank you to everyone who supported the College in 2018, whether that was with a gift, giving advice to a student in one of the Telephone Campaigns, or joining us at an alumni event. We really appreciate your time and support.
We wanted to share an update on some of the projects alumni supported last year, and let you know how you can add your support to LMH over the next few months.
The December Telephone Campaign
LMH held its first December Telephone Campaign at the end of 2018. This was a special campaign aimed at reaching out to alumni based outside the UK, and with that in mind our small team of student callers were staying up late to call at a convenient time.
We were delighted by the warm and enthusiastic response of alumni to the campaign. The students had a wonderful time catching up with alumni, hearing your stories and advice, and sharing news about LMH. Here are a few of the highlights of the week:
- Over the course of one week our team of callers spoke to 105 alumni based in the US, Canada, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan
- You told us about your exciting careers, shared your favourite LMH memories, and gave some invaluable career advice to the student callers
- Almost two-thirds of the people we spoke to chose to make a gift to LMH
- We have received over $25,000 in donations as a result of the campaign - $10,500 of that was a result of pledges made over the phone, and the rest has been generously donated online by alumni we didn’t have a chance to speak to
On behalf of the College and the student callers, thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s campaign. We hope that everyone we got a chance to speak to enjoyed hearing from LMH as much as we enjoyed hearing from you.
The Annual Fund Brochure
At the end of last year we sent out the 2018-19 Annual Fund Brochure, letting you know about our projects to improve the life of students at LMH this year. This includes the new Oxford Study Skills Centre at LMH, which opened its doors in October this year, and a new set of grants for Modern Linguists. We also wanted to thank those who currently support the College with a gift, and show you the ongoing impact of your support.

What’s Next – the annual March Telephone Campaign
We will be holding another Telephone Campaign in March this year in order to reach out to alumni across the UK and based overseas. You will receive an email or a letter about the campaign in advance if we are hoping to contact you, so please look out for more information on this over the next few months.
