For post-doctoral and senior academics wishing to spend a sabbatical period undertaking research and writing
Accepting next round of applications for Michaelmas Term 2017
(8 October 2017 - 2 December 2017
This is our flagship Visiting Fellowship Programme; it is a core activity of the International Gender Studies Centre. The Programme has been successfully running since 1983 and has hosted Visiting Fellows from all over the world on a broad range of topics under the general theme of gender, culture and social change. The Fellowship provides an important opportunity for those wishing to take advantage of the University’s educational facilities outside the formal degree-awarding structures. Fellows join a multidisciplinary academic community of Research Associates with backgrounds in research and fieldwork in, among other specializations, gender studies, social anthropology, history, geography, sociology, literature and development. In addition to on-going research activities, the Centre organises a stimulating programme of weekly seminars, lectures and occasional workshops and conferences. It also has a long-established programme of publications.
While at IGS at LMH, Fellows are able to access the great resource of the Bodleian Library at the University of Oxford, as well as the Lady Margaret Hall College facilities, and will benefit from academic mentorship with an IGS Research Associate with overlapping research interests.
