Annually, for the last 30 years, IGS has held a Commemorative Lecture in honour of feminist social scientists who have made a significant impact to their fields.

This year we are delighted that Dr Ann Varley is giving the Commemorative lecture.

Ann Varley is a Professor of Human Geography in the Department of Geography at University College London.

2016 Lecture

In 2016, Prof. Mona Siddiqui shared her wisdom about religion, ethics and public life with us. In 2015 we were visited by Prof. Naila Kabeer, renowned feminist geographer. In 2014, Ms Winnie Karagwa Byanyima, Executive Director of Oxfam International, took the stage. She was preceded by Professor Rosi Braidotti, celebrated feminist philosopher (2013), and Professor Sylvia Chant, renowned feminist geographer and economist (2012).
