Layout of the library

All books and periodicals (with the exception of our rare books collection) are available on open shelves.

The Library consists of a ground floor, first floor, and gallery, with two rooms at the east end, gallery level.  The Library is entered via the first floor.

The first floor contains the offices, and books on philosophy and religion, social sciences, fine arts, and history.  There is a self issue terminal for borrowing books directly in front of the main doors.

A staircase leads down to the ground floor which contains  the science, law, music, and geography and travel books, and all journals, as well as stack materials. The photocopier and the majority of the Library’s computers and printers are also here.

A staircase leads up to the gallery, which is the languages and literature section.

Disabled access is via the ground floor. Access to all materials can be arranged. Please consult the Librarian, (tel 01865 274361) for assistance.
