Mary Jacobus is Professor of English and Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge. She is Director of the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities (CRASSH) at Cambridge.
After her undergraduate studies she gained her doctorate at LMH and was Fellow and Tutor from 1971 to 1980. She then spent 20 years in the US at Cornell before returning to the UK in 2000. She has recently finished a book on the literary aspects of British Object Relations psychoanalysis. Her other books are on Wordsworth, feminist criticism and theory, and psychoanalysis. She was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2009. She was appointed CBE for services to Literary Scholarship in 2012.
Prof Jacobus was elected to an Honorary Fellowship in 2000.
