LMH is sad to learn of the death of alumnus Tim Hetherington, 1989 Classics and English, who was killed in Misrata on Wednesday 20th April, whilst covering the conflict in Libya for Vanity Fair.

Tim was a distinguished photojournalist and film maker who won international acclaim for his projects examining the human impact of war. He won an award last year at the Sundance Film festival for his highly-acclaimed documentary Restrepo, a film about the war in Afghanistan. Restrepo was nominated for an Oscar this year.

Tim will be remembered by his tutors and friends at LMH for his energy, enthusiasm and curiosity about the world around him, and for his warm and gregarious personality.

We extend our sincere sympthathies to all of his family and friends.
