On 8th May, the College held a reunion of former English students to mark the retirement of Dr Nicholas Shrimpton.
Alumni representing almost every year from 1979 onwards gathered for drinks, speeches and a lunch to celebrate and commiserate with Dr Shrimpton. Speeches paying tribute to Dr Shrimpton and his influence on the LMH English School were delivered by Dr Christine Gerrard, Dr Helen Barr (1979 English), Mr Tom Littler (2003 English) and the Principal in the new Simpkins Lee theatre, which Dr Shrimpton has done so much to help establish. Dr Shrimpton also gave a tremendously entertaining speech delivered with characteristic élan and was received with great affection by his audience.
