Two LMH's Research Fellows, Prof David Macdonald and Prof Claudio Sillero, both from the University’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit (WildCRU), have been nominated for a prestigious international conservation award, the 2012 Indianapolis Prize.
Prof Macdonald is Wildlife Research Fellow at LMH. He was nominated for establishing conservation biology as a science among European universities by founding WildCRU.
Prof Sillero is Bill Travers Research Fellow for Wildlife Conservation at LMH. He was nominated for keeping watch over Africa's rarest and most endangered carnivore through the Ethiopian Wolf Conservation Programme.
The Indianapolis Prize is given every other year to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to conservation efforts involving a single animal species or multiple species.
