Africa’s Young Woman Conservation Biologist of the Year and her work on lions
Shivani Bhalla, a 3rd year DPhil student at LMH, focuses her research on lions in Samburu, Northern Kenya, where she is monitoring the lion population, working with communities to reduce livestock loss from predators and increasing the awareness of lions. Her study also looks at the impact of lions on the endangered Grevy’s zebra.
