Why choose LMH?
Three things are key to the graduate’s experience in Oxford: being part of an academic community; graduate facilities; and the availability of scholarships and financial support.
Academic Community
At LMH you will be part of an outstanding community of scholars. Of those on examined courses, between 20 and 25 percent of our graduates achieved a Distinction over the past three years; there have also been many distinguished doctoral theses; our graduates have given papers at international conferences, and they have published a significant number of academic articles.
Our students are engaged in research and study in almost every subject area the University offers.
Facilities
The College is situated beside the University Parks about 15 to 20 minutes' walk from the Bodleian Library in the city centre. Unusually, LMH provides all its graduate accommodation and facilities on the main college site, integrating the graduate community into the wider college community.
When our new Graduate Centre opens in 2014, right at the entrance of the College, LMH will have some of the best facilities for graduates in the University.
The active MCR arranges a variety of social activities from ceilidhs to formal dinners. There are good common room facilities, including a small gym, and there is currently room to house about 70 graduates in college.
Financial support
The College is investing in its graduate students with 18 scholarships and a goal that almost 20% of all graduate students receive some support from the College. Besides generous scholarships, there are also grants for academic expenses, including giving papers at conferences, and a hardship fund for unforeseen circumstances.
